Për shkak të nivelit të jetesës, mungesës së infrastrukturës, 9 fshatrat ku jetojnë Goranët në Kukës janë lënë në mëshirë të fatit, pa valë telefoni, pa internet, pa rrugë. E vetmja mundësi e tyre është Kosova, së cilës i drejtohen për ndihmë mjekësore e prej saj arrijnë të marrin internetin të cilin e përdorin për të komunikuar me fëmijët që kanë emigruar.
Rruga nga Kukësi në Zapod, gjarpëron mes maleve në një terren të vështirë, e pa shtruar e në mungesë të plotë mirëmbajtjeje. Në skaj të saj janë të dukshme hidrocentralet, plot 7 të tilla, prej të cilave banorët thonë se nuk kanë përfituar asgjë. Sa më shumë i afrohesh fshatit të parë, Orgjostit, aq më e qartë bëhet pasqyra e një zone të harruar.
Pakishti, është pjesë e këtyre fshatrave ku jetojnë goranët, të cilët ndër breza kanë dalluar si njerëz të arsimuar e punëtorë, janë integruar në komunitet por kanë ruajtuar gjuhën vetëm në të folur dhe traditat e tyre. Në këtë fshat ka vetëm të moshuar. Ata jetojnë të vetmuar pas largimit të fëmijëve nëemigracion.

Mbi 60% e fshatit janë pajisur me pasportë bullgare, e një pjesë janë në pritje.Kryesisht, shkaqet ekonomike janë arsyeja kryesore e aplikimit dhe pajisjes së tyre me pasaporta bullgare.
